Section J of the Building Code of Australia has been a key influence on architectural responses for well over a decade but remains poorly understood in the wider industry.

With recent changes introduced in 2019 and fully enforced in 2020, the performance requirements are tougher than ever, and are deliberately trying to change “business as usual” in the world of facades.

Join us to review the key changes to Section J, what they mean in practice for facades, and how to balance cost, daylight, compliance and the pursuit of lower carbon footprints for our buildings.

This webinar, led by experts  - Andrew Thompson, Leader ESD, Cundall, Con Giazi, Director, BGSM and Davina Rooney, Green Building Council of Australia.

Our speakers will provide an overview of the following:

  • Changes to Building Code in 2019 (not just Section J).

  • Key requirements for compliance.

  • Approaches to documentation

  • Managing changes during construction.

  • Touchpoints for compliance and reporting updates

  • Achieving sign off

  • Maintaining compliance during construction

  • Inspections during construction

  • Common risks and errors encountered

Key learning outcomes for architects, builders & construction professionals from attending this webinar are:

  2. Understand key differences and changes in comparison to previous regulation

  3. Review potential impacts on facades and construction build ups
